Local Sustainable Transport Fund

The Department for Transport have invited local transport authorities to make bids for Local Sustainable Transport Funding. The DfT are looking for projects that:

  • Support the local economy and facilitate economic development, for example by reducing congestion, improving the reliability and predictability of journey times or enhancing access to employment and other essential services;
  • Reduce carbon emissions, for example by bringing about an increase in the volume and proportion of journeys made by low carbon, sustainable modes including walking and cycling.

Smarter Business Travel

As you may have already seen on the Department for Transport (DfT) website, we have been unsuccessful in obtaining funding for our Smarter Business Travel Solutions, Local Sustainable Transport Fund bid.

Cleraly this is disappointing news but Despite this, there is still a lot of positive work that can be delivered through working in partnership and we are very keen to maintain and improve our strong, working relationships with those involved in helping us put together the bids to see what new or existing projects we can progress.
