The redevelopment of the Wellesbourne Campus site will provide over 230 dwellings, children's play areas and landscaping. The application was permitted after a Public Inquiry held in November 2007. The development is being constructed by Taylor Wimpey (West London) - 01256 760606
Whilst the estate roads will remain private, the developer is under obligation to amend the existing public highway network in order to accommodate access to the development (e.g. minor widening works and a mini-roundabout on Kingshill Road). In addition, over £200,000 was secured in order to construct traffic calming measures and further improvements on the existing network, as well as to improve pedestrian, cycle and bus use facilities. It should be noted that the traffic calming facilities will be the subject of a consultation stage.
The widening and roundabout construction on Kingshill Road will take place after September/October 2010.
