Tesco are building a store in Packhorse Road Gerrards Cross near the Railway Station. Up until June 2010, the work has mainly been within the site and involved the construction of a tunnel on which the new store will be built.
As part of the new store, there will be changes to the road layout to provide a new access road, pedestrian crossings and traffic control signals. These changes are part of the planning permission for the store.
The highway works started in June 2010 and planned to be completed by December 2010. The works are being done by contractors working for Costain Limited on behalf of Tesco.
Buckinghamshire County Council Highways has been working closely with Tesco and their contractors to plan the works and to ensure public safety.
Unfortunately, there may be some traffic delays due to work, however this will be temporary and the County Council will monitor the works closely and do all they can to ensure things run as smoothly as possible.
