Grass cutting

This takes place during the summer months, usually starting around April.  Due to the ongoing wintery weather in early 2013, grass cutting has been moved back to allow for the ground to recover before the first cut is made.

Cutting the grass of highway verges is undertaken to ensure safety for road users.  Grass is cut to a set programme, up to 12 time per year, between the months of April to September.

Urban grass cutting

This refers to verges within 30/40mph limit signs.  Rotary blade mowers are used for this work.  We have nine three man crews who work through the summer cutting grass within urban areas.

Cut grass is not routinely collected, but will be cleared from footpaths using hand blowers.

In addition, we carry out weed spraying in urban areas twice a year during early May and August.

Any problems with grass cutting, or to report a verge in need of cutting, can be done online: www.buckscc.gov.uk/telltfb

Once grass cutting has commenced in Bucks, a map showing todays works will be added to this page.
