We’re working on it!
Work is about to begin on a programme of capital footway repairs using additional Integrated Transport Block allocation announced in December 2011. The schemes will be delivered between November 2012 and June 2013 in a near continuous programme which has been selected to deliver one scheme for each Locality Area. One additional scheme has also been included in the programme which is being part funded by a utility company.
The programme has been put together in consultation with local area technicians and draws on analysis of data held in symology focusing on sites that have generated the most negative customer reports. The sites were discussed and agreed with the Cabinet Member for Transportation and the programme has been developed to target one site per LAF area.
Some of the sites will need two separate operations, the first to patch the more significant defects and the second to overlay the length of the footway with a slurry treatment which effectively repairs more minor issues and seals the surface to reduce future maintenance. The sites in Phase 3 need more substantial repairs due to their poor condition and will be completed in a one off operation.
The following sites are included in the programme:
Phase 1: Slurry Surfacing Sites - Pre Christmas 2012
Between November and mid December.
- Culverton Hill, Princes Risborough
- Elmdale Gardens, Princes Risborough
- Boddington Road, Wendover
- Station Road, Gerrards Cross
- A416 Amersham Road, Chesham Bois
- Gregories Road, Beaconsfield
The Slurry Surfacing works in particular are weather susceptible and so the actual programme day to day may change. Changes to the programme will be notified to the public by way of Notice to Frontages and on site signage and to the local member by way of email.
